Mickey Rooney American actor, producer and director ,who worked in more than 300 films and won 2 Golden Globes and an honorary Academy Award, is known for his penchant for beautiful women. He married eight including Hollywood heart-throb Ava Gardner. He was born on this day in 1920.

The actor starred in more than 300 films and remained active for nine decades. Featured in “It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World” (1963), Pete’s Dragon (1977) and “The Black Stallion” (1979).

National Velvet (1944) starring Elizabeth Taylor & Donald Crisp was one of her earlier films. Was also featured in Andy Hardy series of films. Began as a child performer. Nominated for Oscars twice.
