Tamannaah Bhatia was born on 21 December 1989 in Mumbai to Santosh & Rajani Bhatia,His father was a diamond merchant. Tamannaah a known face in Tamil & Telugu films made her film debut with “Chand Sa Rohan Chehra”( 2005) when she was barely 15.She joined the Tamil & Telugu cinema aferwards.She made her Telugu debut with “Sri”,in 2005 and her first Tamil movie was “Kedi” 2007.
N. Linguswamy’s “Paiyaa”, co-starring Karthi, which was a Tamil road movie, won her critical acclaim and was a box office success ,earming her a nomination at the 58th Filmfare Awards. Her Hindi film “Himmatwala” ,directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, in which she reprised the role of Sridevi , failed to rise to the occasion. It starred Ajay Devgan, Zarina Wahab and Paresh Rawal and was the remake of 1983 Sri Devi-Jeetendra starrer of the same name. She made her presence felt in Tamil film “Veeram”, directed by Siva co-starring Ajith Kumar, becoming one of the highest grossing films of 2014. “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” directed by S.S. Rajamouli was her most successful film featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati & Ramya Krishna , a box office bonanza creating history with an exorbitant total collection of about 1800 crore on the box office. It was produced with a budget of 250 crore.
She reportedly charged rupee 50 lakhs for a 10-minute performance during the opening of IPL 2018 where she performed on four songs from four different languages – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi. In January 2016 she also became the brand ambassador of the Government of India’s campaign “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”.The actress also launched her own brand Witengold in 2015 and also appeared as a model for brands like Fanta, Celkon Mobiles,She also represented AVR & Khazana jewellers as brand ambassador. Although the actress had a mix track record of both hits and flops, she carved a niche for herself down South.
The actress has been busy in recent years in general and 2019 in particular which saw the release of her many films like “Action”, “Petromax” & “Badrinath” to mention some.The last film featuring Allu Arjun was produced lavishly with technical expertise but it could not meet the expectations. Action scenes were well picturised and romantic scenes were over glamourised.”Petromax” was a Tamil horror-comedy directed by Rohin Venkatesan.
Tamannaah who until recently had qualms about doing kissing scenes in films, has now agreed to enact lip-to-lip kissing sequences.Her stunningly looks and lusciously graceful figure has made her darling of the cine-goers,so to say.She was in the news some time ago when she purchased a flat at a too exorbitant price in a posh locality in Mumbai.Her forthcoming films include “That is Mahalakshmi” & ” Bole Chudiyan”.She is said to be among the most beautiful South actresses.
