Kuldeep Singh commonly known as K.Deep was well known Punjabi #Folk singer nay sensation in 1970s & 1980s. Deep & His Wife Jagmohan Kaur successfully staged many shows abroad. They were also paid, handsomely. The duo was regarded as a prominent singing sensation. Their most famous comedy characters were #Mahi mono & Posti.


Deep is known for singing songs penned by Shiv Kumar Batalvi who was an employee of The State bank of India posted at Sector 17,Chandigarh Branch before his death. “Posti Canada Vich” & “Posti England Vich” were his other comedy oriented folk numbers. His first song was recorded by HMV in late 1960s when Asa Singh Mastana, Ramta, Surinder Kaur & Parkash Kaur were also among he leading singers.

Bestowed with PTC Life Time Achievement Award in 2010 & also #Honoured by the then Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal.


I met the renowned singer in late 1980s in Delhi & later some time in 1993 at a restaurant near Bus Stand, Jalandhar. We sat for about 2 hours & had Drinks together. Kuldeep Singh Bedi was also present.

Born his Day in 1940 at Rangoon in Burma.
