Raza Murad made his presence adequately felt in ‘Namak Haram’ (1973), also starring Rajesh Khanna & Rekha. A touching song “Main Shayar Badnaam” was also picturized on him. Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the film highlights relationship of mill workers. The actor later became popular for his vocal expressions on national & regional issues including the ones relating to films & television.He also worked in Punjabi & Telugu films.
Related to actress Zeenat Aman & Sonam, the actor featured in more than 200 films including-‘Prem Rog’, ‘Henna’ ,’Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Tridev’, ‘Mohra’, ‘Toofan’ & ‘Gupt’. He predominantly enacted negative roles in films. Raza Murad plays ‘Jalal-ud-Din Khilji’ in ”Padmaavat” also starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh . Made his film debut with “Ek Nazar” (1972) directed by B. R. Ishara starring Amitabh Bahchan & Jaya Bhaduri. Also featured in “Ek Duuze Ke Liye” (1981). His father Murad was a well known actor of yesteryears.
Born 23 November 1950 at Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.
