Gifted with Beauty & Talent Aishwarya, is a former Miss India World 1994 .She later participated in the Miss World pageant held in Sun City, South Africa on 19 Nov 1994. She was Crowned Miss World in a glittering ceremony. A total of 87 contestants took part in the event under reference.
Aishwarya took to modelling & films making her Hindi debut with Anil Kapoor starrer “Aur Pyar Ho Gaya” (1998). She was cast in romantic drama “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” (1999) also featuring Salman Khan & Ajay Devgan to win her her first Filmfare Best Actress Award.
She later featured in “Devdas” (2002) , “Umrao Jaan” & “Dhoom2” (2006), Jodhaa Akbar (2008), “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” & “Sarbjit” (2016) . She also appeared in Tamil films- ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ & ‘Ponniyin Selvan: II’ also starring Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha & Aishwarya Lekshmi.
Bestowed with titles like- “100 Most Beautiful Indian Women in the Past Century”, Aishwarya, has two Filmfare Awards to her credit besides Padma Shri including ‘Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ by the Government of France in 2012 to encourage talents in arts in France in general & around the world in particular. Married to Abhishek Bachchan, son of mega star Amitabh Bachchan, the actress had been in news lately for her alleged differences with Bachchans..
