Alok Nath commonly known as ‘Sanskaari Babuji’ for his roles in TV serials, started his film career with ‘Gandhi’ (1982) followed by roles in ‘Mashaal’, ‘Saaransh’ , ‘Aaj Ki Awaaz’, ‘Marte Dum Tak’ & ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ to mention only some. In Most plays, serials & films he played either a father or a submissive person barring a few exceptions.
Nath is remembered most for his role in Ramesh Sippy’s Soap Opera “Buniyaad” also starring Anita Kanwar ( plays Lajo) ,S udhir Pandey Pallavi Joshi, Girja Shankar, Sudhir Pandey & others. The serial was based on the struggle of a family after partition. Alok Nath plays freedom fighter named Haveliram. His wife’s role was enacted by Anita Kanwar. The serial gained popularity for reasons many & helped the entire cast get recognition & fame. Private TV channels were not in vogue at that time. Many of the actors are still active in films & TV in India & elsewhere.

During the ‘Me Too’ campaign Alok Nath was accused of molestation by a TV producer including few other ladies who had worked with the actor. Resultantly, his image as a Sanskari Babu remained under threat nay temporarily tarnished . Their were allegations & counter allegations. The matter closed before long as it could not be proven according to sources. During the entire episode under reference, his wife firmly stood by his side.
