Anjum Chopra born to Krishan Bal & Poonam Chopra in New Delhi, unarguably ranks amongst the finest ever female cricketers in the country. Anjum who made her debut at the age of 17 in 1995 went on to become a force to reckon with in later years.
Anjum who started cricket when she was barely nine & represented Delhi in the under-15 team, made her ODI debut in 1995 against New Zealand and also made her Test debut months later in 1995 against the visiting English team at Eden Gardens.
A student of Delhi Public School, Anjum Chopra played 12 Tests & 116 ODIs. She will be known for her perseverance, dedication and interests in other sinews of the game .She has captained the side & was also a commentator & consultant. She was also an ardent lover of Basketball and athletics. Her favorite cricketer is Sachin Tendulkar & among actresses she likes Madhuri Dixit. A sweet natured Anjum Chopra indeed is loveliness personified personality. Bestowed with Arjun Award & Padma Shri.
