Divya Bharti who made her her Tamil debut in 1990 followed by ‘Vishwatma’ & ‘Dil Ka Kya Kasoor’, took little time to get recognition. ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’ & ‘Deewana (1992) added to her popularity. She was paired with Govinda in the former & with Rishi Kapoor & Shah Rukh Khan in the latter with some scintillating numbers to boast- ‘Sochenge Tumhe Pyaar.. Karein Ke Nahin’, ‘Teri Umeed Tera Intezar Kartein Hein’ & ‘Koyi Na Koyi Chahiye’ to mention.
I met the actress during the shooting of both the films. I was a guest on the sets of ‘Shola Aur Shabnam’. Two of her films ‘Rang’ & ‘Shatranj’ were released after her death. ‘Dhanwan’, ‘Ladla’, ‘Mohra’, ‘Dilwale’ & Vijaypath were her incomplete films. The teenage icon won a million hearts before she departed for her heavenly abode in 1993.
