Jabeen Jalil was an Indian actress who worked in Hindi films occasionally appearing in Punjabi films. She made her debut opposite Shammi Kapoor in “Raat Ki Raani” (1953). I had watched her Punjabi film ‘Chaudhary Karnail Singh’ (1960) also starring Prem Chopra ( Debut appearance), Jagdish Sethi & Madan Puri. The film won National Award For Best Feature Film in Punjabi.

Married to Ashok Kaaf, Jabeen was discovered by Nigar Sultana & Dilip Kumar. Worked in some lovely movies in 1950s & 1960s including New Delhi (1956), Panchayat (1956), Raagini (1958), Bedard Zamana Kya Jaane (1959) & Taj Mahal (1963). She also featured in 1961 film ‘Batwara’ starring Jawaher Kaul. One of the songs ‘Yeh Raat Yeh Fizayen’ was a hit number from the film under reference. In a career spanning twenty years, she worked in 23 Hindi and four Punjabi films. Her last film was “Vachan”(1974) starring Vimi, Shashi Kapoor & Prem Chopra.
