AJ Lee, youngest of the three children, born to Janet Acevedoon & father Robert Mendez, has been a name to reckon with in the world of wrestling. The Brown eyed cutie stands 5’2″, weighs 52 kg with an athletic body measuring 32-24-34. Her upbringing was marred by poverty & other social injustices. Her brother persuaded her to try her luck in the Ring which she later did in 2007. AJ who initially featured as April Lee, changed her name to AJ Lee also known as AJ Brooks, AJ Mendez & April Jeanette .
Mendez began her professional wrestling career in 2007 in New Jersey & was subsequently signed with WWE in 2009, making her WWE debut in 2011 as part of a tag team with Kaitlyn called “The Chickbusters”.
Known for entertaining the crowd with her in- ring passionate kissing scenes and romantic flings with fellow wrestlers like-Bryan Daniel, John Cena, CM Punk, Cane and many others, the so called “Crazy Chick” & “Tomboy”, Lee also featured in film “Rabid” (2019) & TV series “Heels”. She also contributed as a writer giving an insight into her upbringing, initial struggle & romances in a memoir.
Trained by American professional wrestler, Jay Lethal, the three-time WWE Divas Champion, AJ Lee eventually married CM Punk (Phillip Jack Brooks), fellow professional wrestler & long time associate in 2013. The couple reside in Chicago, Illinois. Lee surprised many when she made her comeback to the world of professional wrestling in October 2021 becoming a part of Women of Wrestling (WOW), joining the promotion as an executive producer.
