Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman’s discovery, known as the Raman Effect, is the change in the wavelength of light that occurs when a light beam is deflected by molecules. He was bestowed with the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1930. The 28th February is celebrated as ‘National Science Day’ in India to commemorate discovery of the ‘Raman Effect’ by C.V. Raman.

Linus Carl Pauling(28 February 1901) was a renowned scientist and pace activist who was, one of the Five in the history, to win 2 Nobel Prizes (Chemistry & Peace). Marie Curie was the only Lady to win 2 Nobel Prizes. Born 28 February 1901 at Portland, the most populous Port city in Oregon, United States. Happy Birthday.
