एक जुल्फ मेरी ज़ंजीर बनी
लिया दिल साजन का जीत
वो छेड़े पायलिया ने गीत

Pankaj Udhas , the noted Ghazal & playback singer, needs no introduction. His debut album was ‘Aahat'(1980) followed by a series of albums including Tarrannum (1982), Mehfil (1983) & Pankaj Udhas Live at Royal Albert Hall. Rendered his voice in many films including ‘Yeh Dillagi’, ‘Mohra’, ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’, ‘Ghar Ki Izzat’ & ‘Jai Vikraanta’ to mention few.

Known to commoners as a singer who rendered “Chitthi Aayee Hai” number from film ‘Naam’ starring Sanjay Dutt & Amrita Singh. Rendered “Munne Ki Amma Yeh To Bata” with Kishore Kumar. “Tere Ghinghroo Toot Gaye To Kya” was another masterpiece. Bestowed with Padma Shri.

Born 17 may 1951, Pankaj Udhas breathed his last today after prolonged illness at Beach Candy Hospital, Mumbai.
