On His Birth Anniversary
Bobby Deol, the youngest of the Deol brothers, made his film debut with “Barsaat” opposite twinkle Khanna. It was raining heavily in the City. Taking stock of the situation, Dharmendra strictly instructed everyone that nothing negative about the film should be published in trade papers. His strategy paid off. The rest is known to all. The film later picked up and became the 5th Highest Grossing movie of the year after ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Karan Arjun’, ‘Raja’ & ‘Rangeela’, earning Bobby Deol the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.

Soldier (1998), Badal (2000), Bichhoo (2000), Ajnabee (2001), and Humraaz (2002) followed to cement his career. Unlike his father & elder brother, Bobby carried the image of a semi-romantic hero.
Things were not rosy in the years that followed as some of his films faired badly at the Box Office. Deol was almost sidelined. The actor, however, received a shot in the arm following the success & popularity of Web series “Aashram” directed by Prakash Jha. He not only featured in all the three parts of the series but also received critical acclaim for his role as Baba Nirala. His latest film “Animal” (2023) starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor & Bobby Deol did wonders at the box office front. He was handsomely paid for & also received fresh assignment, too.

“Race 3” (2018) , “Housefull 4” (2019) & “Class of 83” (2020) were his latest films. The actor was married to Tanya, a business woman in 1996 .
