जुम्मा चुम्मा दे दे चुम्मा
जुम्मे के दिन किया
जुम्मे का वादा
जुम्मे को तोड़ दिया
जुम्मे का वादा
ले आ गया रे फिर जुम्मा-

Daughter of actress Meena Fernandez who featured in ‘Sujatha’, ‘Anari’ & ‘Aar Paar’, Kimi Katkar hit the Hindi silver screen with a bang in her debut film “Adventures of Tarzan” directed by B. Subhash. A beautiful model that she was, no stranger to camera or camera-men, nor had she had any jitters or gooseflesh when she was told that she would have to do romantic, sexy & revealing role almost the same kind in the film that the original ‘Lady Jane’ did in the Hollywood film “Tarzan & His Mate” made far back in 1934.The Tarzan was played by the then Olympics champion Johnny Wiesmuller.

However, Kimi Katkar’s “Tarzan” was sort of a watered-down version of Bo Derek’s film. Kimi neatly reveals her all. Besides so many of the scenes showing the actress in damp, see through, skimpy clothes, there were sequences showing her luxuriating in lakes, streams, and under waterfalls, if only to show off her sexy curves and contours of which she had plenty. In one particular scene the hero Hemant Birje is shown marvelling at the sight of her frontal charm. There was yet another scene which shows the two riding an elephant-Kimi seated in front of the hero .As the elephant walks majestically, the riders get delightful jolt-to the viewers utmost delight.
It must be said to the credit of the actress that she enjoyed a rapport with the top-flight stars as well as the younger set. In a short span of her career, she co-starred with the likes of Dharmendra, Jeetendra, Anil Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi,Vinod Khanna, Jackie Shroff, Mithun, Sunny Deol, Chunky Pandey, Rajnikant, Raj Babbar, Danny, Dimple Kapadia, Shashi Kapoor, Ashok Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha, Sunil Dutt to mention some.

Interestingly, she was also the darling of producers, directors and technicians. She indeed was “a cure for nerves, anger & depression”. She was the one who bagged ” Hum” opposite Amitabh Bachchan” both singing ‘Jumma Chumma De De Chumma’ to the audiences’ delight. Kimi’s emergence on the film scene had made many proclaim that she had filled the gap caused by the retirement of Zeenat Aman & Parveen Bobby. And they were not wrong in their judgement as the later films proved.
Her prominent films include the likes of Mard Ki Jubaan, Dariya Dil, Mera Lahoo, Teja, Humse Na Takrana, Yudh, Vardi, Zulm Ki Hukumat, Shiva Shakti Mr & Mrs 420,Paanch Paapi Andhergardi, Humlaa, Gair Kanooni, Gola Barood , Sher Dil, Jaisi Karni Vaisi Bharni including her debut film “Patthar Dil” (1985).
