Juhi Chawla, the svelte dimpled girl from Punjab ( born at Ludhiana in 1967) won her first Best Actress Award for “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke”, directed by Mahesh Bhatt (1993) featuring Aamir Khan. Interestingly, her first blockbuster “Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak”( (1988), won her Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. The film starred Aamir Khan opposite her in the lead, also featuring Goga Kapoor , Dalip Tahil & Reema Lagoo . Mansoor Khan, son of noted director & producer Nasir Khan, directed the film. It won National Film Award & also Filmfare Award for Best Direction.

Juhi Chawla, a form Miss India -1984 debuted with “Sultanat” (1986) followed by a Kannada film titled “Premaloka” (1987). Juhi Chawla was cast in a cameo appearance in “Chandni”(1989) starring Sridevi & Rishi Kapoor. Yash Chopra later cast her in the critically acclaimed “Aaina” (1993) opposite Jackie Shroff followed by Blockbuster “Darr”(1993), a suspense thriller, featuring Sunny Deol and Shahrukh Khan. She later appeared in many films notably-“Lootere” (1992)”, “Izzat Ki Roti” co-starring Sunny Deol & Rishi Kapoor, “The Gentleman”(1994) opposite Chiranjeevi , “Ram Jaane” (1995), “Yes Boss” (1997) co-starring Shah Rukh Khan again, & Rahul Rawail’s “Arjun Pandit” (1999) opposite Sunny Deol. She did David Dhawan’s “Loafer” (1996) & “Deewana Mastana” (1997) with Anil Kapoor.
