Raj Kumar Kohli is a well known veteran Producer-director who is known for making multi-starrers like ‘Naagin’, ‘Jaani Dushman’, ‘Raj Tilak’ , ‘Naukar Biwi Ka ‘& ‘Insaniyat Ke Dushman’ to name only some. His earlier film ‘Lootera’ (1965) featuring his wife Nishi, Dara Singh Prithviraj Kapoor & Jeevan was a hit stunt film with some lovely songs rendered by Lata Mangeshkar like – “Mujhe Dekhiye Main Koi Dastan Hu” & “Kisi Ko Pata Na Chale Baat Ka” under the music score Laxmikant Pyarelal with lyrics penned by Anand Bakshi.
“Qatar” (1997), produced & directed by him, featured his son Arman Kohli, Rambha , Sunil Shetty Sunny Deol & Sonali Bendre.


Kohli who married actress Nishi in 1960s has a son named Arman Kohli & a daughter Gogi Kohli .He is also credited with casting stars like Sunil Dutt, Dharmendra, Jitendra, Shatrughan Sinha actress Reena Rai & Anita Raj at regular intervals.


He also produced few Punjabi films including “Pind Di Kurhi”(1963) featuring Ravinder Kapoor, Nishi, Khairati & Wasti and “Main Jatti Punjab Di” (1964) Starring Nishi, Jeevan, Manmohan Krishna, Manmohan Krishna and Achla Sachdev. In “Jeene Nahi Doonga”(1984) Kohli included Punjabi cine stars – Mehar Mittl & Daljit Kaur in the cast. Nishi also featured in the film under reference.

I met Raj Kumar Kohli twice. Last time in 1990 during the cock-tail dinner of film “Sahibaan” at Hotel Centaur, Juhu.
