Trisha Krishnan, fondly called Trisha, ranks among the front runners down South. The actress has been doing wonders in both Tamil & Telugu cinema for last two decades and so successfully too.. A model in her own right ,she made inroads into films to touch the pinnacle of glory stardom & what not. The recent success of some of her films speaks volumes of her histrionics. She has worked opposite seasoned actors like Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas to further prove her claim of being an actress of substance & merit.

Bestowed with ‘The Star’ actress title, the actress has proved her mettle doing a variety of roles in films & so successfully too. She has also done a lot of TV commercials over the years.

The historic epic drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ was Trisha’s latest and most talked about film .It is is an adaptation of novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthi. The story revolves around the rise of the Chola empire and the King, Raja Raja Chola 1(985 CE to 1014)said to be the most powerful ruler. He was succeded by Rajendra 1. Trisha plays the role of Princess Kundavai in the film which has been appreciated & widely acclaimed .

The Indian Express gave the film 4 out of 5 stars and wrote “Mani Ratnam understands Kalki’s novel is a mainstream page-turner, so he retains its flavour and neither intellectualises it nor dumbs it down”. The Quint rated the film 4 out of 5 stars and wrote “Ponniyin Selvan 1 is grand and royal but unlike the bombastic, hyper-masculine world we are used to seeing these days with overwhelming VFX and CGI, here Mani Ratnam’s hold on the narrative never slips”.

Trisha took to films after winning the “Miss Chennai” title in 1999, to convert her dream into reality.’Saamy’ (2003) and ‘Ghilli’ (2004) were her Tamil films. followed by ‘Varsham’ (2004) which came like a shot in the arm for the actress making many an ear pricked up. Naturally, therefore, she won the Filmfare (South) Best Actress Award . The film also starred Vikram Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Trisha Krishnan .The actress has been bestowed with many accolades for her performances in films.

Trisha debuted with Tamil film “Jodi” (1999) & Telugu film “Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu” (2003). “Khatta Meetha” starring Akshay Kumar, Urvashi Sharma, Kainaat Arora & Aruna Irani was her Hindi debut film. Her latest “Ponniyin Selvan 2” is reportedly struggling at the Box office front.

Gifted with grace & poise, the pragmatic actress stands 5 feet 5 and weighs 52 Kg with a slim 33-25-34 measurement. Jennifer Lawrence, Manisha Koirala & Salman Khan are reportedly her favorite stars. She is fond of Reading, Listening Music & Swimming.
