Abdul Hayee popularly known as #Sahir Ludhianvi, was one of the front-runners in his field as an Urdu poet & lyricist. He viewed things in a different perspective from his contemporaries, making in-depth study of social, political & religious shams, resentment, anger, injustice and inequality & accordingly created poems as is evident from the song below. He was least bothered or concerned about popularity & luxuries of life.

Some of his popular songs include the likes of- “Reshmi Salwar, Kurta Jaali Ka” & “Sathi Hath Badhana, Sathi Hath Badhana” -Naya Daur”( 1957 ), “Na To Karvan Ki Talash Hai”, Barsaat Ki Raat (1960) under the music score Roshan, “Main Zindagi Ka Sath Nibhata Chala Gaya” & “Abhi Na Jao Chhodkar Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahin” (Hum Dono-1961) “Chalo Ek Baar Phir Se Ajnabi Ban Jaye Hum Dono’ (Gumrah-1963), “Laaga Chunri Mein Daag” sung by Manna Dey in ‘Dil Hi To Hai’ -1963 , “Tum Agar Saath Dene Ka Wada Karo” & “Neele Gagan Ke Tale”, Hamraaz (1967), “Mere Dil Mein Aaj Kya Hai”, Daag (1973) sung by Kishore Kumar to mention few.
