Born Divya Desai to Ajay & Rasila Desai at Nagaon, Assam- Rasmi Desai is known for her role in soap opera “Uttaran” (2008-2015) as Tapasya Thakur, also featuring Tina Dutta, Rohit Khurana & #Nandish Sandhu who she was later married to. The actress, however, made her film debut with an Assamese Film- “Kanyadaan” (2002) .

Rashmi Desai & ‘Bigg Boss 13’ contestant actor Nandish Sandhu of ‘Kasturi’ fame tied the knot in 2012. The marriage could not last longer and they divorced in 2015 with Rashmi accusing him of having extra marital flings & the latter blaming her to be too sensitive in marital relations.

The actress who rose to prominence with serial “Uttaran” & won acclaim from different quarters as one of the most sought after and loveliness personified actresses of the small screen. Widely known for portraying grey characters across Indian Television, & recipient of several accolades including two Indian Television Academy Awards ,Rashmi gained more weight and found herself under pressure with the arrival of many voluptuously endowed & ‘ready to bare’ starlets . Her anxiety or restlessness was also evident from her glam pictures hitting the social media. The actress who was paid 50000/- per episode remained out of media limelight for some time.

“Dil Se Dil Tak” (2017–2018) & “Naagin 4: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel” were her other serials followed by her debut with web series “Tandoor” (2021) & “Ratri Ke TYatri” (2022). Also featured in some Bhojpuri, Gujrati & Hindi films including #Blockbuster-“Dabangg 2” (2012) doing a cameo in in the song “Dagabaaz Re”

Rashmi who stands 5 feet 3 inch , is fond of Dancing, Driving, Travelling, Swimming. Salman, Hrithik Roshan & Madhuri Dixit are her favourite Bollywood stars.
