Anushka Shetty ranks amongst the top actresses down South. She is also one of the most adorable and liked actresses. Her “Bahubali” opposite Prabhas created Box Office history some years ago.
Born in Mangalore, Karnataka to a Telugu speaking family, the actress made inroads into films in Puri Jagannadh’s “Super” (Telugu-2005) also featuring Nagarjuna & Ayesha Takia. She along with Ayesha made their presence felt with their titillating nay alluring performance to the #delight of the audience. “Ayesha and Anushka”, both provide the needed dose of glamour to keep you engrossed” writes IndiaGlitz.
Her later films “Mahanandi”(2005) & “Lakshyam”(Target-2007), an action film in Telugu starring- Gopichand & Jagapati Babu provided her the needed boost. The film won two Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award South. It was also made in other languages. There was no looking back for the actress.
The film under reference is “Deiva Thirumagan” (2011)starring features Vikram in the lead role as a mentally or intellectually disabled youth. Directed by A. L. Vijay, it starred -Sara Arjun, Anushka Shetty, Amala Paul, and Sachin Khedekar in important roles. S. Viswanath from the Deccan Herald stated that in “Deiva Thirumagan” (2011) A L Vijay proved his mettle , supported by his glorious team, ensuring it’s worth the ticket money”, labelling it as a “not-to-be missed, must-see movie.
Her “Bahubali’ released few years ago created #Box office history with Prabhas in the lead in both version.
