Dara Singh enjoyed equal popularity both as an wrestler & actor with many hits to his credit including a film on his name titled “Dara Singh”. ‘King Kong’, Aaya Toofan’, ‘Dara Singh’, ‘Sikandar-E-Azam’, ‘Lootera’, ‘Nasihat’, Thakur Jarnail Singh & ‘Sultana Daku’ & ‘Rustom’ were some of his earlier action films.
Dara Singh produced many Punjabi films including ‘Sawa Lakh Se Ek Ladaun’ , reportedly one of the costliest Punjabi films starring Rajesh Khanna, Navin Nischol, Neetu Singh & Yogita Bali.
Also featured in “Mard”, “Elaan-e-Jung”, “Dharmatma” & “Mera Naam Joker”. His role as Hanuman in TV serial ‘Ramayan’ added to his popularity. WWE Hall Of Famer, Dara Singh started his innings in films in 1952 and was the first sportsman to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha.
