Most starlets made inroads into TV & films with a ‘Mission Impossible’ – to become a part of the tinsel world, if not a super star, to fulfill their childhood dream. Interestingly, Mouni Roy, the starlet who debuted with Star Plus extravaganza “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi”(2007), has fulfilled first part of her childhood dream & to realize the latter part of her fantasy (achieving stardom) she has already begun to climb up -to the summit of stardom- in the right earnest, though slowly and steadily.

Mouni Roy, the tall svelte beauty, born 28 September 1985, is a known Indian actress, singer & dancer . She played Krishna Tulsi in her maiden serial “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” winning appreciation from all quarters
She later appeared in TV series “Kasturi” (2008) created & produced by Ekta Kapoor.She portrayed Devi Sati in “Devon Ka Dev-Mahadev” (2011-2014) followed by ‘Junoon – Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq Meera’, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (2014) & series “Nagin 1,2 3) (2015-2018) playing Shivanya catapulting her to popularity chart.

She also did cameos or specil appearances in many shows like- Bigg Boss 10,11,13,14 & 15 including music albums like- ‘Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein’, ‘Patli Kamariya, & ‘Poori Gal Baat’ to further her career & populrity. Roy also starred in the Punjabi movie ‘Hero Hitler in Love’, directed by Sukhwant Dhadda starring Bhagant Mann. It was declared a hit film.
Her Bollywood debut came with Akshay starrer ‘Gold’ (2018) directed by Reema Kagti. She received positive reviews by critics. Hindustan Times wrote, “Mouni Roy as Akshay’s wife Monobina is just the right mixture of crotchety and charming. With her grasp of Bengali, she brings that extra something to the film’s milieu.
