Canada-based India singer Sidhu Moose Wala was gunned down last evening. He was travelling in his SUV which was reportedly chased & surrounded by two motor cars with 9 people on board. The assailants pumped a volley of bullets into his body before fleeing from the spot in broad day light. The incident was witnessed by many passersby but they were asked to run away. One witness told media persons live that the singer suffered three bullet injuries.
Though the police chief Viresh Kumar Bhawra called it result of an inter-gang rivalry, much remains to be answered in the case.
Moose Wala had contested election against Health Minister Singla & lost. After the latter’s arrest in a corruption case he had made a statement against him after which his security was reduced from four to two. At the time of his death he was neither in his Bullet Proof car nor was accompanied by his security personnel. The opposition parties accused the AAP government as inexperienced.
I do not know much about Punjabi singers because, I feel, they lack quality & can not rub shoulders with top Hindi singers of yore. I also do not understand their vernacular lyrics at all. Resultantly, I do not write about them .But in the case under reference many new thing have come into light. The singer was to do a Show in Canada in July. The Canadian police were aware of the fact that some thing unpleasant may take place during his show. The had reportedly made elaborate arrangements at their level & stopped sale of tickets. They were on high alert. The singer was to be killed in Canada but when the group found that the secret agencies were on High Alert, they did the job here instead of there, and so successfully, too, as the conditions here were more conducive to doing away with him.
The media reported that as many as 30 rounds were fired. It is not a all possible with pistols as these contain one or two stationary chambers. Though Revolvers have multiple chambers up to six, it is not possible to fire 30 rounds even by 5-6 people. But 7-8 people can fire 30 rounds if they carry revolvers. In the present case, use of a machine gun cannot be ruled out. There is no denying the fact that the police were inert .On television no policeman was seen carrying a gun. Each one was carrying a baton.
The singer lived in a Haveli with a set of Dobermann, also called Hunting Dogs but they could not save their Master, nor the security guards when the assailants took charge. Surprisingly, the deceased drove a SUV instead of his Bullet-Proof car.
