Scion of Roshan family, Hrithik Roshan ranks among the top actors of Bollywood with many hits to his credit. As a child he worked in a number of films directed by his maternal grandfather, J. Om Prakash including Aasha (1980). He also worked under his father Rakesh Roshan in – four films, including “Khudgarz” (1987), “King Uncle” (1993) and “Karan Arjun” (1995), as an assistant director .
His paternal grandfather Roshan Lal Nagrath was a known music director who gave hits like- Bawre Nain (1950), Barsaat Ki Raat (1960) ,Aarti (1962)) Taj Mahal & Dil Hi To Hai, (1963) & Bahu Begum (1967) .
Acting, therefore, had naturally been in his blood as he won two Filmfare Awards for his film “Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai” (2000) also starring Ameesha Patel , Mohnish Behl & Anupam Kher directed by his father Rakesh Roshan. The film grossed more than 80 crore against budgeted cost of 10 crore. “Krrish” (2006), directed by his father was another hit, grossing 120 plus crore against a budget of 36 crore. It starred Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra and Rekha.
His other hits included “Dhoom 2” (35 crore v/s 150 crore), “Krish 3” ( 94 crore v/s 390 crore) & “Jodha Akbar” ( 32 crore v/s 120 crore) opposite Aishwarya Rai. Won 6 Filmfare Awards including 4 as Best Actor. Married actor Sanjay Khan’s daughter Sussanne Khan in 2000.They later divorced in 2014.She received few hundred crore as Alimony. Appeared in Forbes India’s 100 Celebrity list , based on income and existing popularity, several times. Was in the news, some time ago, for his differences with Kangana Ranaut who worked in “Krrish 3” (2013) also starring Priyanka Chopra & Vivek Oberoi.
Fiza, Mission Kashmir, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Koi… Mil Gaya, Bang Bang, Agneepath, Yaadein , Lakshya & Mohenja Daro are his other notable films.
