The Sikhs all over the world Celebrate the Birthday of their First Guru, & founder of Sikhism ,Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, with fervour followed by langars , sweets, crackers & lighting. Most Gurudwaras have been illuminated on the occasion with thousands of people visiting to pay respect to the greatest saint who spread message of harmony, equality and peace.

His 974 hymns or ‘Shabads’ are part of Shri Guru Granth Sahib- the holy scripture. His composition Japji Sahib is believed to be the essence of Sikhism
