Samantha Ruth Prabhu born 28 April 1987 is a name to reckon with down South with more than four dozen films to her credit shocked her fans and also critics when she announced she was parting ways with hubby Naga Chaitanya whom she married four years ago, after a long friendship. A recipient of four Filmfare Awards, two Nandi Awards, six South Indian International Movie Awards, and three CineMAA Awards. Ruth started her career doing some modelling assignments unti she was chosen for a role in Gautham Menon’s well received Telugu movie, “Ye Maaya Chesave” in 2010 receiving Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress and a Nandi Award .
Samantha hit the bull’s eye when she was bestowed with the honour of winning the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actress and Best Telugu Actress respectively for her performances in films “Neethaane En Ponvasantham” and “Eega” both in 2012.The latter,a fantasy action film written and directed by S. S. Rajamouli,with a budgeted cost of 30-35 crore, grossed a whopping 130 crore at the box-office front.
Most people attribute the main reason of divorce being her bold & negative appearance in web series “The Family Man 2”. The actress has been well reputed & known for her restrained performances in most earlier films. She has also been my long timeline friend.
