Sri Lanka with a population of over 21 million is our neighbouring country ,earlier known as Ceylon. The country is known for its awe -inspiring fauna & flora besides tea plantation in particular. Sri Lanka is world’s fourth-largest tea-producing country. In 1995, it was the world’s leading exporter of tea, with 23% of the total world export.
Lankan women have an old penchant for fashion & beauy.’Beauty Pageants’ are regularly held there and internationally,too,some of the Lankan women have won laurels for the country.Modelling has come up as a floourishing industry with thousands of young and well endowed girls doing wonders worldwide.There are more salons & photographers per capita in the country which has a relatively smaller population. Photography plays as an essential ingredient or sine qua non in ‘Fashion Shows’ & ‘Beauty Contests’ besides sports & pre & post marriage events .Girls in thousands are associated with the fashion industry and its paraphernalia.
I ventured to write about Sri Lankan Models 15 months ago and became known to many of these lovely beauties, including some irresistibly stunning nay voluptuosly endowed ones the likes of Shenya Wijerathne ,Shehani Gayathri,Mayumi Ishara including many Salon owners like Princess Choice Urubokka,Ru Wirawila,Asu Jesmin Bridal,some known dancers & many photographers -Danuka Lakshan Kumarasinghe,Vishwa Tharanga Fonseka & Kingsley Perera to name some.
Danuka Lakshan Kumarasinghe, my friend photographer from Sri Lanka, sent me breathtakingly exotic moments enjoyed by the two ‘love birds’- Dulaj & Jayani & captured by Dark Room at Port City Bay location in Colombo.
