Shraddha Das ,born 4 March 1987 in Mumbai,to Sunil & Sapna Das in Mumbai is an Indian model & actress who has been a part of Telugu, Kannada, Malyalam, Bengali & Hindi films. Interestingly she is also a singer holding a Mass Media degree in Journalism .During her college Her penchant for acting & modelling prompted her to pursue a career in showbiz .She also did advertisements for some products before switching over to acting as a career.
Her maiden Telugu release was “Siddu from Sikakulam”(2008), followed by “Target” (2009) ,”18, 20 Love Story”, “Adhineta” & “Arya 2”. She, however ,debuted with “Lahore” (2010) playing a Pakistani psychiatrist to win public acclaim both nationally as well as internationally .Directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan and produced by Vivek Khatkar, the film introduced Aanaahad and Shraddha Das in lead roles with veterans like Farooq Shaikh, Nafisa Ali, Nirmal Pandey, Sushant Singh, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Saurabh Shukla, Ashish Vidyarthi, Kelly Dorji, Mukesh Rishi to lend credibility. The film won National Award at the 57th National Film Awards including Best Supporting Actor Award for Farooque Shaikh.
Shraddha Das also featured in a Bengali film titled” The Royal Bengal Tiger” ( 2014) based on an award winning novel “Fight Club” by American writer Charles Michael .The film starring Abir Chatterjee , Priyanka Sarkar, Shraddha Das & Jeet was declared a hit and received positive reviews. A Hollywood film was also made on his novel featuring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. The sequel “Fight Club 2” & “Fight Club 3” were also released in comic book in 2015 & 2019 respectively.
Shraddha Das also worked in some critically and commercially acclaimed Telugu films “Darling” &, “Nagavalli” ( 2010) & Hindi film “Babumoshai Bandookbaaz” starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bidita Bag in the lead roles. The movie did average business at the box office & failed to further her career as was thought of. However, her another film “Great Grand Masti ( 2016),an adult-horror movie, directed by Indra Kumar starring Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi ,Urvashi Rautela ,Sonali Raut & Shraddha Das, playing Nisha , was declared a hit.
