Payal Rajput born 5 December 1992 at Gurugram,Haryana is an actress who has been finding a place in the Bollywood.The actress,it would be conceded,has a few successes both in television and films in last 3-4 years. She made her debut in Punjabi film ” Channa Mereya” ,a remake of the super-hit Marathi film Sairat (2016 ) which reportedly collected more than 100 crore rupee on the box ofice against a budgeted value of merely 4 crore. The film was directed by Nagraj Manjule.Gifted with an hourglass body,the actress stands 5 foot 7 & weighs 55kgs .She is graduate & holds a diploma in acting.
The story of “Channa Mereya”, directed by Pankaj Batra featuring Ninja and Payal Rajput revolves round two lovebirds Kainat and Jagat who are in love .The twist begins when their relationship becomes known .Kainat’s father (Yograj Singh) , an influential politician and his son( Amrit Mann) do not digest their intimacy as Jagat belongs to a relatively poor family.The lovebirds begin to feel the heat but vow not to be separated,no matter what happens.The film was released in 2017 and evoked mixed response.
It was followed by her Hindi debut in “Veerey Ki Wedding” (brother’s marriage) directed by Ashu Trikha (2018) featuring Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda,Jimmy Shergil and Payal.The next came her Telugu movie ” RX 100″ written & directed by Ajay Bhupathi featuring Kartikeya Gummakonda and Payal Rajput in the lead.In the film Payal plays a nymphomaniac daughter of a local politician who entraps a village lad Shiva into the web of her sensuousness to fulfill her sexual longings.When the truth is eventually revealed,the jilted & depressed Shiva( Kartikeya Gummakonda) ends his life.The film was replete with intimate love and kissing scenes , naturally therefore,it drew crowd to the theatres.It was declared as one of the greatest successes of all time,a blockbuster in real sense.The film reportedly grossed 12 to 15 times the budgeted cost.
“Venky Mama” starring Venkatesh Akkinenei, Naga Chaitanya,Raashi Khanna & Payal Rajput was another Telugu film she worked in. The success of the film can be gauged by the fact that it collected 72 crore on the box office front against budgeted cost of 40 crore rupee.It was released in December 2019.The actress has won Filmfare Debut Actress Award ( Punjabi) for ” Channa Mereya” (2018)and SIMMA Award for ” RX 100″ in 2019..She did a sizzling number ‘Bulreddy Song’ in Telugu film “Sita”(2019) to the audience delight .The film ,directed by Teja, stars Kajal Aggarwal & Bellamkonda Sreenivas in the lead.
Payal started her television career in ‘Sapnon Se Bhare Naina’ She played the lead role of Siya “Aakhir Bahu Bhi Toh Beti Hee Hai”, directed by Prabhat Prabhakar & “Yeh Hai Aashiqui”( 2013-16)Her latest release is “Disco Raja” in January 2020.Brimming with youthfulness and energy,the actress is sure to make it big in films.
