The Covid19 menace indeed has played havoc with the lives of millions all over including many film ,TV,Music & Media personalities who sccumbed to its menace, prematurely.The world continues to be upended by the coronavirus pandemic, with more & more people contracting COVID-19 as the days pass by. I would quote names like Terrence McNally, Italian actress Lucia Bosè, Mark Blum,Maria Mercader, a CBS News veteran,Grammy-winning country music singer Joe Diffie,American rock musician Alan Merrill & Popular Japanese comedian Ken Shimura,most death occuring because of complications from Covid19.
In our country,too, Covid19 has claimed many precious lives in last few months,many of these were known film & television artistes actors and media persons have succumbed to Corona complication at home or in hositals.Shravan Rathod passed away earlier this month followed by Satish Kaul suffering complications from COVID-19, succumbing to it on April 10.Ramu, a Kannada film producer & husband of actress Malashree died on Monday evening. He had produced more than 30 films.Classic musician Pt Rajan Mishra & actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal also died following Covid-19 complications . One of our friends, producer Sudarshan Rattan ,too died of Corona some time earlier. Legendary Bengali actor,Soumitra Chatterjee who did work in some Satyaji Ray’s films also died in Kolkata after battling with Covid-19 & Aaj Tak Journalist Rohit Sardana.Geeta Behl & now actress Sripradha,too,have fallen prey to Covid19.
Sripradha,a known actress of Hindi & Bhojpuri films died yesterday folllowing Covid19 complications.She worked along side Dharmendra & Vinod Khanna in J.P.Dutta’s “Batwara” ( 1989).The most sensuously gifted actress with sweet disposition primarily appeared in crime-thrillers or horror movies like-“Lootere Pyaar Ke”, “Aakhir Kaun Thi Woh”, “Intaqam Ke Sholay”, “Apna Kaun”, “Khoon Ki Pyasi”, “Bewafa Sanam”, “Dilruba Tangewali”, “Ganga Mange Khun” & ,”Ab To Jeene Do”.She also worked in a television horror show. She belonged to Naidu family. Kirti Kumar, actor Govinda’s brother, was close to her.
I met the actress twice, lastly in 1995 during the shooting of a teleserial at a bungalow in Andheri West in 1995.She was a too bewitching dame with a hidden allure to boast.Unfortunately, she could not make it to the top.I found her attractive & likeable even more than many actresses in the upper slot.May Her Soul Rest in Peace.
